What do you think are the pluses snd minuses of these two schools (business major). They seem comparable academically, size wise, nice campuses, nice weather..which do you think is better and why? Thanks!

It really won’t matter what other people think about which is better, because it gets down to personal taste. Tulane has higher average stats for incoming freshmen for at least the last 4 years, but not ridiculously higher. Maybe 40-50 points for the overall average SAT scores. Miami is a fair amount larger, about 10,400 full time undergrads versus about 5,700 for Tulane. Tulane is really in New Orleans (in a very upscale section) while Miami is actually in Coral Gables, also nice but not quite as easy to get to Miami itself, another interesting city. The sports teams at Miami are better. The interaction between Tulane and New Orleans is amazing as it continues to come back from Katrina. As far as business, Tulane has some wonderful programs in finance and trading, and Mad Money from CNBC is coming to film a show there this month.

You really need to visit both campuses and see for yourself. Nothing anyone can say on here will really give you a good sense of which way to go on this because they do, in fact, compare fairly closely in many aspects on paper, but in person they have a very different vibe.
