ya, money was an issue for me so that's why i'm going to berk... a bit disappointed. chicago undergrad is so much better than cal's. cal has way too many people, i think i will drown in the mass of bodies. international prestige is great, although it's mostly due to the wonderful graduate programs they have. lol
GRG, my gpa was 3.8ish uw and 4.4ish w.

Berkeley actually does have a bit of more international prestige than Chicago. Chicago is of course known for its economics, but Berkeley is generally stronger in most other departments (especially in the sciences). This is international reputation.

Exactly what i was talking about.

Berkeley is an amazing school with such a right balance between humanities and sceince/engineering. And it's world-class school !

Of course, Uchicago, even though less known outside US, is top school. My cousin once told me ruefully " There are five private schools in this country which deserves high debts: HYP, Stanford and Uchicago"

well, maybe one needs to be careful when he says "international prestige." I'm from Brazil and all of my friends knew what I was talking about when I said UChicago, and they were all impressed... yet only 1 of them - an American - had heard about Berkeley.

Myself: Do you realize what you have done? You have just violatedthe CHOAM Declaration, paragraphs 16 and 17, sub-paragraphs 1 & 2, and also articles 7 and 8 from the Great Convention !! ** You insulted me, a righful heir of Great House and a royal kinsman!!** i invoke kanly-- oh wait. Since there is no way to get to you, i can only curse you "Cursed be thy name, you will have no soul and no spirit. You body will suffer at the bottom of our slave pit, your body wander at the depth of hell", "Pang of despair will pague your soul eternally"

felipe: I mean no disrespect to you and your country, but "Brazil" doesnt quite exude any international prestige as a "civilized" country, no? Wait, I did hear about "brazilian barbecue" and "wild Brazilian woman"!!!
