U of M financial aid and scholarships

@seaotter17 The OOS school I work with had two students get excellent financial aid awards. Neither student was left with any “unmet need” and received grants for all but about $3000. I cannot vouch for their family income but one student comes from a family where the father is a teacher and the mother doesn’t work. That makes them not rich but not exceptionally poor either. The father said it was the best FA package they received.

@ScienceGeek99 Congrats! Both scholarships look fantastic–do you plan on attending?

@exlibris97 That is an impressive amount of financial aid… So far I have received a lot of local, independent scholarships, which is slowly bringing down the cost of U of M. Still not to UVA’s level of aid, but closer haha :expressionless:

@seaotter17 UVA is a great university too! A bit of the opposite problem of UM: at Michigan you have the winters, whereas at UVA you have very hot and humid spring/summers. One day you wake up and summer has arrived. You then count the days until it turns cool!

@exlibris97 The last 2 winters at Ann Arbor was very mild. Thanks for the climate change.

@billcsho Now if we can only get rid of the mosquitoes in the summer…

they say that ann arbor has 2 seasons, summer and winter, winter lasting 9 months lol

I have been living in Ann Arbor for 18 years. There may be 6 months of winter for a few years, not more than that, even for me that came from Texas.
