<p>My DS is accepted to OSU and UM and we are instate Michigan. He will be engineering. So with his 2 4-year scholarships from OSU and little scholarship for 1-year at UM the tuition is about the same. I have lived 25 years in Ohio and 25 years in Michigan so completely unbiased toward one state or the other. However, I have to admit I am a bit annoyed with OSU’s attitude regarding football. It has gotten to the point that it is funny (loved the powerpoint at honor’s day that specifically said it had been over 2500 days since UM had beaten OSU…is this why my son should go there???) I really don’t think in most peoples’ minds that UM is a better overall school, esp. in engineering, business, med and law schools. I think the national reputation is better at UM. Maybe I am biased toward Michigan…LOL</p>
<p>However, my son likes OSU and I think wants to do something different from the rest of his friends (that is go to UM). Will he hurt himself by not going to UM? He will most likely go to grad school.</p>
<p>Oh and his dream school GA Tech is too much $$. Bummer for him.</p>
