U. of Michigan vs. Tufts?

Sorry to have misled, I meant that no one who was serious about pre-med/STEM would have applied to BC from my high school back when I attended without something compelling such as a full scholly or “they must be in Boston” and BC was the best school they could get into.

A fair number of kids from my graduating class were admitted to BC…and few of them were Catholic.* However, the ones who took up admission were going there because they were aspiring pre-law students, big fans of BC sports teams, and tended to be drawn from the middle-bottom of my graduating class.

In contrast, Tufts tended to admit those interested in STEM/Pre-med and humanities/social sciences from the top 1/3 of my class…a group which also applied/admitted to the elite universities/LACs.

My urban math/science high school was ~50% Asian/Asian-American and 20%+Jewish when I was there.

^I understood you, but perhaps misplaced my emphasis. My school had such lousy science, (top flight girls prep school back in the bad old days, science got a lot better after I graduated,) those math/science considerations weren’t on our radar. Only one person in my class went to a tech school.
