I want to apply to the University of Rochester as a Priority Scholarship Applicant but I think my SAT scores and TOEFL scores are going to arrive a few days later than December 1st. I can submit my transcripts, recommendations, applications, and supplements before the deadline but only my test scores are going to be few days late. Am I going to be eligible for Priority status? Should I apply at all?
If I won’t be eligible for Priority status, I want to work more on my essays and short question responses and submit the Common App around January.
I’m in the same boat as you. I’m using rush reporting for my SAT scores and just hoping for the best.
From all I heard it sounds like a “soft” deadline as in the sooner the better but doesn’t run out per say if you are a bit later but waiting till Jan 1st would likely see a difference. My daughter’s interviewer was from the admissions department and didn’t think it was a clear line like regular admissions deadlines. Like its not all applicants before December 1st then all applicants after December 1st in another pile. Its more an internal rolling review that gets inundated just before January 1st and the ones they reviewed earlier get a better chance.
I like you am not 100% sure but from what I asked and heard do your best but don’t hold off till January 1st if your just gonna be a few days late on a couple items.
