The URedlands forum is inactive--does anyone here have any real experience with it? Dorms, town, rigor, student profile?

My much younger brother went there. He loved the town of Redlands so much that he bought a house there after he graduated. It’s a charming town with Victorian mansions and tree lined streets. The school itself is beautiful, similar in appearance to Pomona College where I attended. The dormitories face onto a central quad, and are 2 story, attractive older buildings. There are also newer dorm rooms for seniors in the Senior Center, and a new student union as well. The college is located at the base of Mt. San Gorgonio, a 12,000 foot peak, the tallest in Southern California. There are ski resorts at the top, and if you just want to play in the snow, you can easily drive to the snowline about 15 minutes from campus.

Here’s a photo of the main quad, with the College Chapel and Mt. San Gorgonio in the rear. The dorms face onto this lawn.

Thanks, Band Mom. It isn’t well known and they don’t distribute a lot of literature. Nice to hear a first-hand account.

Here’s a bit more about the University and the City of Redlands.

The Victorian mansions and Craftsman homes are some of the most extravagant in California, especially the Morey and Kimberly Crest mansions. The Smiley library is a California state landmark, absolutely stunning inside and gargoyles on the outside! :)
