University of Redlands

I just got into UoR and so far it seems like a pretty good fit for me. My only problem with it is the small size, as I was hoping to go to a school with a medium-to-large student body. Can someone who goes to Redlands or knows people that go their tell me what the overall experience is like, and whether the social scene and atmosphere of the school are like?

I driven through the campus if that counts haha. Anyways, my friend’s brother graduated from it. They say it’s an amazing and beautiful school. The jist of it is that it’s overall a great school.

Congrats on your acceptance.

My son is in his third year at Redlands and has had an excellent experience so far. He has several circles of friends - athletes, students from his major, dorm friends, friends from his First Year Journey (highly recommended, it’s an outdoor program for incoming freshmen the week before orientation), etc. Most students live on campus which helps brings students together. Seniors and some juniors opt to live in the on-campus Brockton Apartments which are very nice. The academics are challenging and professors take time to get to know their students. My son loved the food his first semester but got a bit tired of it after that - probably a pretty common complaint. The town itself is a bit sleepy. My son has taken road trips to visit friends in San Diego, Claremont and LA.

The Admissions office is one of the best I’ve seen - feel free to contact them if there’s any more information you need. And be sure to take a tour if at all possible.

I have a buddy that’s on the football team there. From the crazy party stories he tells, it doesn’t seem like there’s any lack of social life whatsoever.
