<p>If cost is the same after a scholarship from U. of Rochester, which one would you pick? Which one is better in pre-med or pre-law? Which one is better in engineering?</p>
<p>The title has a typo error. I mean UW-Madison vs. U. of Rochester.</p>
<p>Educationally equal but socially, school spirit etc no contest. UW is better in most engineering. UW hands down.</p>
<p>I am also deciding between Rochester and Wisconsin but I want to study economics and a foreign language, possibly Chinese, I know Wisconsin probably has a better language program but which school has a better economics department?</p>
<p>Wisconsin has a top 10 dept while UR is good at top 20.</p>
<p>Wisconsin is very well regarded in econ. It also has one of the best language programs I have seen and is home to several national organizations regarding the study of foreign languages. I would go there, no doubt.</p>
