U of SC Class of 2025 Admissions

Same with my DD. Their antiquated process isn’t doing them any favors. Very frustrating to be WELL above the median and be deferred when she’s been accepted to schools that are more competitive.

How did y’all access your financial aid information? I received an email requiring me to make a VIP email but I didn’t get anything else besides that

We just got that same email and came here to check if anyone else had - haha. It let my daughter claim her ID but she wasn’t able to login with her credentials. She got an error saying “Service access denied due to missing privileges.” If it helps anyone, my daughter applied RD (decided late in the game).

Edit: she tried again and was able to log in but nothing to see

My D just got the same email. Use the link in the email and your VIP ID. FYI - my daughter just attempted to set it up. She made it through almost the entire process and then received a message the site was down for maintenance.

I made the acct but i couldn’t see my fin aid package tho

The $ part was in the original acceptance letter and final amounts come in March I was told

Same for my D. Way down on the list now given she has other options. She just got the financial aid ID set up though, not sure what that means.

And mine was accepted back in December and didn’t get any email about financial
Aid

I feel you. Seems to be no rhyme or rhythm to decisions.
I was accepted thankfully but had a 4.0 UW and 1420 SAT so was expecting good merit yet zilch mentioned in acceptance letter.

Reading the email she received more closely, it says they “received the results” of her fafsa and to set up the ID so they can communicate with her about it in the future. I’m guessing they do not have the aid packages prepared yet, and that claiming the VIP ID is the next step in the process.

Confusing for sure.

Wow how did you not get merit with those stats!!

For those of you who received the financial aid email today, we’re you already accepted? My son also got the same email, but o acceptance decision yet.

No decision here either and we received the email.

Thanks.

D accepted EA

My DD hasn’t been accepted yet and got the email. So confusing!

Hopefully it’s an indicator that happy news is forthcoming :crossed_fingers:.

My son has decided to attend another university next year and we can’t figure out how to decline the admissions offer in the portal. Anyone know how? There is an action that says “cancel application”, but we are not sure if that is the correct way since he has already been accepted. Want to make sure his spot is given to someone who may not have been accepted yet. Would love to have a second Gamecock in the house (my daughter is a sophomore at U of SC), but the scholarship money was not nearly enough compared to his other top choices :frowning:

I’m sure it’s in the portal…withdraw. You may wait - some schools give more later. Just curious - where are you from and what are his other top choices and ultimate choice

We are from MD. His top choice is the University of Central Florida with U of SC and the University of Tennessee a close second. With the amount of scholarship money he has already received from the other two schools, it is tough to keep my son interested in U of SC. We are paying instate tuition for my daughter at U of SC. My son had similar SAT scores and GPA as my daughter so he was a little turned off with his initial scholarship offer. As it stands now, UCF is coming in under $20,000 for tuition, room and board so I think that is where he will end up. That’s ok. At least he did not end up at Clemson!
