U of SC Class of 2025 Admissions

I also got the “at least 40k” scholarship. It doesn’t specify which scholarship but I assume it is the Academic Scholar-Merit Award

So did my daughter. She’s crushed. SC is her first choice.

They’re still in the running. Wishing your daughter good vibes and success in the regular decision round.

deferred:/ Still hopeful though

Son was accepted but no mention of a scholarship in the letter. We are out-of-state, so U of SC is not likely going to stay in the top two. Bummer! Best of luck to everyone else!

Accepted with at least 85k merit. Applied regular decision surprised to see the acceptance today

I’m into all 6 of my safeties and now I’ve got the Ivy’s left… I really wish everyone could get in. Best of luck! I was wondering if anyone knows the range of money the “at least $40k” goes up to because I’m out of state and don’t qualify for need based aid so I need to get the gist of what I would be paying

I’m OOS and got deferred. For my supplemental material, I submitted an essay, not my ACT. Does that mean that they did not get enough time to review my application?

I don’t know what the upper limit is, but with our older daughter a couple years ago, she got the “at least $40k” first and then they bumped it up to $60k in March. Congratulations.

@UTSquared, I hope they do the same this year. $60k would be a difference maker

D21 accepted OOS as a French major. 4.0 UW, 4.67 W, 8 AP’s, test optional. At least $40k scholarship.

Congratulations to all who got in, and all the deferred students hang in there, lots of spots open at RD, our older daughter got in several places RD after being deferred from EA and even got some money for them.

If you are really serious about SC, then you should let them know that. State schools don’t have as much flexibility as private schools, but if they know that getting a little extra each year is the difference between you coming or going somewhere else, they might be able to make it happen. Never hurts to ask, but only do it if you are really intending to go there.

My daughter - also OOS and deferred - uploaded a graded paper in lieu of test score. Her stats are toward the lower end, so we assume she’s borderline - particularly without a test score. Hoping for the best and I wish the same to you. My guess is they either might have gotten a lot of no-test applicants and just need more time to holistically review, or, want to see how deferred kids look versus regular decision pool. No way to know for sure, though. All the best to you.

Daughter accepted with “at least” a 40k scholarship. OOS (NJ), exercise science major, 3.78 UW GPA, 1230 SAT/28 ACT, private high school with an all honors and AP curriculum, 10 very good extracurriculars.

So excited for her! This was her top choice!
