I recently got accepted into U of T's Rotman Commerce and University of Western Ontario, Management and Organizational Studies.

Initially my first choice was U of T. However, after a bit of looking around I started having doubts about the quality of education and the overall satisfaction of the students. When I compared the two schools on globecampus, Western Ontario got better reviews in almost all the categories although U of T ranks higher worldwide and seems to be more popular outside of Canada. I'm not so sure whether popularity and rankings are important and how well they reflect what it's really like when you get there.

If anyone is a student in either one of the unis or has any advice to offer it would be of great help. Thank you! =)

that simple? well thanks for the advice ivyleaguer xD

Nicky, three of my Ds are at U of T, two undergrad and one in law school. It’s an excellent school with a beautiful urban campus in the center of the city. Western is in a much smaller city and is likely to provide you with a different college experience, not necessarily worse, just different. My Ds all love U of T but it’s definitely not the school for everyone. A good student who is independent, mature, and who works hard can do well at U of T but a lot of kids get overwhelmed. Have you visited both? If possible, I would suggest you do that, take a tour, speak to current students and see which school feels more like a fit for you.

Western has always been a top notch biz/mgmt. school. It is more laid back that U of T, but is still a pretty large campus, and it’s not like you are out in the middle of the woods. London, Ont. is a middle upper class city of about 250,000 halfway between Toronto and Detroit. Athletics are a big thing. It’s more like a Big 10 school, really. U of T is more urban. I wouldn’t obsess over which is better. They are both good. Go to the one that suits you best.
@57special This thread is 8 years old! My guess is that the OP has graduated by now.
