U of toronto anyone??

any similar site for montreal universities?

i know a couple of kids who got in with an 85-87% aggregate in their board exams( 10 and 12 both)
a lot depends on which branch ur applying to, more competitive branches (like engineering) 85-90% would suffice, (correct me if i’m wrong Viggy)

hope this helped.

^well, that’s true. Some programs/branches are quite easy to get into (for example, if you wanted to go into philosophy, I’m sure that it wouldn’t be very difficult).

In Canada, we have no boards in grade 12. It is simply the mark that we receive in courses, based on our course work and our exams (made by our teachers). So, those are the entering average for students accepted. I think it is the ‘Top 6’ average (which is what we use here for admission (highest 6 marks in grade 12, including prerequisites)).

And I don’t know about Quebec universities (Quebec is the province, Montreal is the city). I don’t what what the site is. I just know that CUDO is for Ontario uni’s.

Hope this helps.

The percentages viggy posted are for canadian nationals. Like us, they too have percentages in in their school system (am I right Viggy?). But these can’t be compared with Indian boards. In Mcgill and UofT, you can get admssion with 85%+ in 12 boards.

i believe so!

but arent admissions for cbse students based on 1st exams and 1st prelims?? Since the application line is open in sept-oct… and it closes well before our boards… Infact January is a late application ive heard… I know a girl who got into UofT 75% in the 2010 CBSE boards… For Medicine!!

All of our grades in Canada are in percentage, and yes, those stats are for Canadians. I just posted them so all you would at least have some kind of idea about what averages students had when they entered (at least the Canadian ones). Many seemed confused about what it would take to get in, so those stats for engineering at UfT show you what it takes for a Canadian to get in…keep in mind, it is easier for an Ontario kid to get into an Ontario school like UfT (not by a lot, but it is a mild advantage).

@killerrocker, how can a high school Indian student get accepted to UfT medical school? That’s not even possible here in Canada, where you need to do at least 2 year of undergrad to even be eligible to apply. Those who apply to med school here after 2 years need to have ALL the prerequisites complete AND have unbelievable GPAs to get into UfT (3.95+ GPA).

UfT’s Medical School has an average GPA of 3.92 or 3.91, I can’t remember. That’s for accepted students. This figure is bound to only increase as admissions gets tougher and tougher in Ontario and Canada (Ontario student acceptance rate to med school is ~15%, while in the US it is around 43%).

yea i meant shes goin to uoft for medicine… she wants to do medicine… The reason i said that is cause i cant believe it at all. with such low grades into UofT??

^well, I guess that’s a good thing then for all internationals. I don’t have any concrete stats with me for international acceptance rate, but if you says she got in with really low grades then I would guess most/all of you UfT applicants will get in! That’s a good thing then.

hey does anyone have an idea what are the different doublemajor combinations with accounting in UoT? Any idea about Queens? I cant find it on the site…

can anyone tell me whether i will be able to get an admission in u of t?
i got 92% in 9th
94% in 10th
95%in 11th
but due to some medical problems i only managed to get a score of 82% in 12th. do u guyz think i’ll still be able to get an admission in u of t or my life is ruined

Your life is ruined? By not going to U of T? What the hell?

As for your chances, get your counselor to explain your medical situation and you should be fine.

Hey guys, I’m in Grade 12 right now and I have my CBSE Board Exams in march. I’m in the commerce stream as of now.
I’ve applied to U of T for Business.
My grade 10 results were 84%
grade 9 was 80%
grade 11 was 70%
grade 12 prelims was 70%
and predicted marks for boards are 88%
I am a grade 7 drums graduate from trinity college and topped my country in grade 7. My EC’s are too damn good but clearly my grades aren’t that impressive.
Do you reckon I will make it?
U of T Means everything to me.
Please reply asap.
Thanks.

What an expedient thread, i must say!
thing is i’m planning to apply to UToronto as well, and was looking for some feedback. Seems like a good uni, but i’d like to know more about the application process. is it all online? or do you have to courier stuff as well?

also, any note on their cost of attendance per year? do they offer any scholarship/aid to internationals?

I am an international student from India and have 80% in 12th grade and 90% in both 11th and 12th grade (CBSE)
SAT - Math:740 CR:490 Writting: 530
Will my high Math score be an advantage for me despite my low SAT?
