Also, I plan on taking online summer classes to potentially replace my 3 Bs I got first semester. Will USC or UCLA be able to see that during admission? I know we self report grades, so do we have to report that we did summer classes.

UCLA is getting increasingly more difficult to get into, but USC and UCSD seem a good fit. I grew up in washington and now live in california and honestly you’ll love it here! I would recommend taking more than just one SATII (especially because if you decide to apply to more privates as many require 2). perhaps us history, lit, bio, etc. Also AP scores are important.Make sure to get leadership in your clubs! If you can, maybe also find a research internship or any internship to do during the summer- they look pretty impressive. Sorry if this is long winded it’s just nice to see another WA->CA hopeful

Your intended major will affect admission selectivity. If it is CS, be aware that it is very popular now, so the admission threshold is likely significantly higher than for the school overall at many schools. Washington may admit you to general admission instead, but then getting into the CS major later will be a highly competitive process.

Also, UCLA and UCSD will be expensive with little or no financial aid for out-of-state students. Have you talked to your parents about college finances and run net price calculators?
