U Penn Supplement Posted July 1st

^ I am applying ED, so I have to finish my essays before November. I also go to a tough magnet school and have a pretty demanding senior schedule, so I want to get the bulk of my essays done during the summer.

THEY CHANGED THE DATE AGAIN?
headdesk

…penn ■■■■■■ so hard. Ugh.

They had it available earlier today, these are the topics included (can’t verify that they’ll remain the same now that it’s been removed though):

Required essay: Considering both the specific undergraduate school or program to which you are applying and the broader University of Pennsylvania community, what academic, research, and/or extracurricular paths do you see yourself exploring at Penn? (Says to confine to one page and that M&SS Eng applicants shouldn’t answer this one).

Huntsman essay: Discuss a current international issue that demonstrates how international affairs and business intersect.

M&T essay: Discuss your interest in combining management and technology. How might penn’s coordinated dual-degree program in business and engineering help you meet your goals? Please be sure to address the nature and extent of your interests in both business and engineering.

Vagelos essay: What is intriguing to you about combining the study of life sciences with the study of management? We already know about many of your accomplishments, so please focus your thoughts on where your interest in both science and management came from and where you see it going.

Nursing/Wharton essay: Discuss your interest in nursing and health care management. How might penn’s coordinated dual-degree program in nursing and business help you meet your goals?

Bio-dental essay: Discuss your reasons for aspiring to a career in dental medicine. How might penn’s accelerated Bio-dental program help you meet your professional goals?

Marketing and Social Systems Eng essay: Please write a brief essay describing your interests in modern networked information systems and technologies, such as the internet, and their impact on society, whether in terms of economics, communication, or the creation of beneficial content for society. Feel free to draw on examples from your own experiences as a user, developer, or student of technology.

Interestingly, there was no Page 217 essay or equivalent. I’m starting to suspect this was unintentional, and they removed the supplement when they realized it was incomplete and/or incorrect. That’s just a guess though.

I currently have the “unofficial” supplement, mentioned above, saved as .pdf document.
The above is correct, and I believe the final assumption is correct as well.

However, I see no reason why any of the questions for required essays would change.
Oh yeah … -facepalm-

yeah, it now says august 1st. this was expected. c’mon penn

@StarsAligned
any chance you could PM me the pdf?

Suvayanr: I also have the PDF; if you PM me your email address I can send it to you that way.

^ do you mind emailing me the pdf as well?

Not a problem, (and this applies to everyone, since I’ve been getting a good amounts of PMs as well) just shoot me a PM with your email address and I’ll send it right over.

To everyone who got the supplement: I received an email back from Admissions today; the essays on that version are confirmed to be correct, and they are no longer using the Page 217 prompt.

I am sooo excited that 217 is gone lol. Why do you think they took off the supplement?

If they left everything else the same.

Why did they remove 217?
