U.S. grad schools

So it's looking like McGill is a fit but one question remains. I have been looking on the McGill Web site for data re McGill students being accepted at U.S. universities for grad school and haven't found anything, or even stats on percent who go on to grad school. I don't want to put the cart before the horse, but I'd like to know things like do McGill BS grads ever get accepted into American medical schools. I did find online that American McGill grads are allowed into McGill Medical School. Any help would be appreciated.

LOL@McGill med...I believe they take 13 U.S. students a year

Anyhow, McGill does well in placing people...and yes, you can def. go to med school in the states

Well, I don't know where those I recall wanted to go to med school ended up. But I can give you a list of where some of my classmates were accepted for grad school: Harvard, MIT, Johns Hopkins, Oxford (including 2 Rhodes scholars, so what if it's not in the US), U of Chicago, Stanford, NYU, Vanderbilt, Princeton, Yale, UC Berkeley, UDub (Seattle). I know I'm forgetting a few...
In short, yeah, don't worry, getting into grad/med school in the US from McGill, isn't a problem (of course, the actual challenge is up to you).

Actually think I read McGill Medical takes 7 U.S. Longshot in every way, it's just that the possibility is there.
And thanks, Blobof, that's the assurance I was hoping for.

Blobof, is there any percentage admitted to US grad/med schools that is offered by the university? this is a major factor for me as well

I'm not sure what you mean, if you're looking for statistics somewhere on the McGill webpage, you'll have to look yourself. I don't think there are such records as I'm pretty sure they don't track this kind of data. I know the majority of those who move on to grad school stay in Canada for obvious reasons, but the point is that McGill's reputation won't hinder you getting accepted to grad/med school in the US (it may help).

Back at the Medical Deal...McGill only takes 13 americans into their Med school from their undergrad program, or in general?

Basically what I'm asking is, would it be easier for me to get to McGill medical if I went to McGill undergrad?

How is the program rated by the employers?

How does it compare with the B.Com programs of Queen's,Toronto, UBC?

For international students, with good academic track record, how good is the job prospect? Any data available?

The website of McGill is very good and provides most of the information. However, on 'Career Services', it seems to me, less specific, esp. when you compare with the schools like Wharton, Ross and McIntire.

One of the major plus point for studying in Canada, is the lower cost. I am aware od the reputation of the Canadian Universities, but not too sure about how it gets translated into job prospect.

Require information, for making the final decision.

Thanks

drmambo: Interested in same question as you.
If you go to the mdapplicants.com site it may help somewhat. If I am reading this correctly, McGill Med. took four McGill undergraduates, one from Harvard, one from Univ. of Wyoming and one from Yale. I didn't spend too much time on this site, but I thought two McGill undergraduates also applied to Harvard and Yale. Hope this is correct information.
