<p>Adding to my3tuition’s comment, my brothers went to UT Austin in the mid eighties.</p>

<p>My brother just told me the tale of how he and his twin went to a really nice reception given by UT Austin for the National Merit Semifinalists in the city. They offered a very nice scholarship, and my brothers decided to go for it. They knew from my experience that my family would not get any financial aid.</p>

<p>My husband and I recounted our similar experience with University of Alabama.</p>

<p>Now, I don’t know what UT’s status was academically back then, but now, they are a very strong school, both academically and athletically.</p>

<p>Here’s hoping that UAlabama has similar success as they grow their academics.</p>
