I have a bit of a dilemma here. I've been torn between two schools for the past several months-- U of British Columbia, Vancouver and UC Davis. I was wondering if anyone have any pros and cons on picking either one, quality of education, etc. I was admitted to Davis in Undeclared Humanities, and Human Kinetics at UBC(even then, I'm not sure how the program really works). I'm planning to go into medicine, specifically sports medicine or kinesiology.

I currently reside in San Francisco, so the distance between travelling to Davis versus Vancouver is a 2 hour drive compared to a 2 hour plane ride. I've visited Vancouver before, and the city is incomparable to Davis(which is surrounded by pretty much nothing but flat, farmland). I'm supposed to register for classes in about 2 weeks, but I still don't know where I'm going yet. I have very little financial aid, none from parents, and tuition will be coming out of my own pocket (UBC costs more because I'm an international student). So I'm wondering, is it worth it to go to Vancouver for school? Help me out, yeah? Thanks.

UBC Vancouver::
-- has specific program geared towards major
-- more expensive
-- far... far away from home (good/bad?)
-- beautiful campus
-- mountains & ocean
-- pretty naiiice nightlife
-- very similar to SF
-- unfamiliar school system
-- no family/relatives/friends
-- semesters (winter & summer)

UCDavis::
-- cheaper
-- closer to home (good/bad?)
-- university = the city
-- surrounding farmland
-- trimesters (fall, winter, summer)
-- almost half of my high school senior population is attending
