Colorado College, UBC, UC Davis - Help!

So I have heard from all of my schools by now, and I've narrowed them down to three that I think are the ones I want to attend: Colorado College, UBC, and UC Davis (different i know).

I was at the CC open house just last week, and I loved it. Everything about the campus, the students, the classes and professors, the location and especially the Block Plan seemed great. The International Political Economy is also very tempting. A perfect school besides the price, pretty much.

I also just visited UC Davis, the campus was better than I expected (from what I had heard about it), and it seems like a great school (academically). The location (central valley) is putting me off a little, but I may be wrong.

Lastly, University of British Columbia. I am visiting this coming week, and I'll hopefully get a feel for the campus from that. I think UBC is going to be my best shot, due to price (best value).

So! I would really appreciate any input from students or alumni at any of these schools! Anything you have to say that you feel is important would be helpful! Also, other applicants who find themselves in the same situation at me, go ahead!

What are your out-of-pocket cost differences for UCD, UBC, and Colorado College? Do you get the domestic price for UBC or the international price?

I have a kid at Colorado College who loves the place; I have been very impressed with it, too. But cost can be a very important factor in this decision.

I think Colorado College is a terrific college!

my out of pocket would be 41k for CC, 22k for UCD, and 20k for UBC. (per year costs)

I would get the international price for UBC, I’m from California.

UBC by far! An internationally renowned university in a great city for a cheaper price tag. CC is not in the conversation. UCD would be my 2nd choice.

“The location (central valley) is putting me off a little, but I may be wrong.”

Davis is about an hour and a half from SF (in good traffic) so you can always escape if you need to. I personally don’t have huge problems w/ the central valley… (Especially if you ski!) Are you soCal or norCal? How close is Davis to home… is that good or bad?
I have been to British Columbia and it definitely has a better location than Davis, but I don’t think you should decide based on the central valley turning you off.

Depends on how much an extra ~$20K means to you and your family, and what your other expectations are. It’s your conversation, binouz.

CC sounds like a great place, but those two other options also sound wonderful. I would save my bucks and go to one of the state (or province) schools.
