UC App. Awards

I received the Dean’s Honor List 3 times, should I place it once, and in the description list all of the times I received it. This way I can place more awards since we only get 5 spots. Or, do I need to list it 3 times, using 3 of the 5 spots?

Yes, just once with date range.

On my app I placed in one spot, and said something along the lines of “Awarded Deans List for GPA X.XX from Semester X through the current semester. Award is noted on transcript”

You could also leave it out if you have other stuff. It won’t have really any impact as they can eyeball your GPA. Some CCCs have 3.3s making the Dean’s List, which makes it extremeley pointless. My daughter had a 4.0 and never listed it. Just stick it in if you have space.

I read alumni essays and if I ever saw deans list it wouldn’t even register because the award has become virtually meaningless, sad to say. (On a resume, it could possibly work, although it would depend on the recipient’s knowledge of Dean’s List and how easily they are often handed out. In this case, I’d add the GPA)

I called the UC application hotline. You can place it more than once.

No one said you couldn’t put it in more than once. You can add whatever you want in those boxes. Luckie combined, my daughter left out, you can list them all. It’s up to each applicant.
