Hi everyone. Just wanted to say that I’m a long time lurker, and first time poster. But has anyone received information from UCLA to set up an account yet? Thanks!

edit or should I say 4th time poster. LOL.

One more thing, I signed up for UCSD’s TAG but do you guys think I would get the shaft if I had a 3.4 GPA? I have a 3.49 GPA right now, and if I can get an A in the class that I’m taking right now(Winter) than I’ll have a 3.51. If I get a B, than it will drop to a 3.42 =[. Worse thing is that its a stupid computer science class(which ONLY UCI requires as a prereq) and its going really tough for me.

@iDizzle UCSD’s TAG has a hard cutoff GPA of 3.50, they make absolutely no exceptions and they don’t evaluate your winter grades for their admissions process. If you don’t get admitted to UCSD in April, you can petition with your winter grade showing your higher GPA, but they still will not consider you for TAG.

^^^ Oh I see. I didn’t know that they don’t look at the Winter grades. But it’s still possible to get accepted through the regular admission process right? I applied as a Communications major and Anthro as my alternate. Are those 2 majors impacted at all?

I hope someone can answer this question for me before it’s too late :/

So on my application I put that I would be attending my current university till May (when Spring Semester ends). If you get accepted say in April to a UC, are you still able to take summer classes at your current school?

And also:
If you are editing your application to add summer classes, do you say that your attending the school until August, even though you’re attending a UC in the Fall?

Yes I was told by a rep that if we get accepted we are still able to complete summer courses at our CC. I’m planning on finishing calc in the summer.

@JDSFTW. Check the school website. Usually, for us new transfer students we are given last priority for registration and the fact that Summer courses are more expensive [And no Financial Aid] puts us at a disadvantage.

@UCK~ Amen! Can’t wait to get this process finally rolling. On another note, do you think if I pulled a D in a pre-requisite for my major that my app could be rescinded? haha. Not that I’m planning too, but Calc-2 is going to be a hard class for me…Note, that would be my ONLY D…EVER. I’ve never had a D before, not even in high school. All A’s and B’s…

Do UC’s ask for application verifications for transfers like they do with 10% freshmen? If they do, would those letters come in approx this month?
