Hehe can someone answer my question? Thanks fam!!
@thenewstyped I would say your stats look really good. but at a school like Berkeley no one has a high chance of being accepted and no one knows what happens during the admissions process. It’s really hard but we’ve only got 17 more days until we find out.
Yo, I am at UCLA and we are not seeing any of these money probs that you are saying and my gf goes to UMich and UMich is cool and fun but so is UCLA and so is Berkeley. They all have tons of research going on and the classes and students are cool! Professors are top notch! UCLA and UCB are much more “California” and UMich is more Midwest but my gf is super annoyed that there are so many NY and NJ kids there because she wanted more of the Midwest exper. The Greek life is a little more obnoxious at UMich because there aren’t as many things to do there as there are in Calif even tho AnnArbor is fun! If you like UMich better, then you should go there and visit their websites and brag away!
@calraterboi lol true umich is 50% out of state with the majority coming from new york, new jersey, illinois, and california. it has actually considered becoming a private school because it has such a large population of oos students. umich does have its weaknesses though: its weather and dorms. uc berkeley definitely has nicer weather. a girl at my school got waitlisted from umich (shes a michigan resident) but accepted into berkeley and ucla but ended up going to msu because uc schools didn’t give her any aid. its really different that in california there are 9 uc schools you can apply to through 1 app but in michigan basically ppl just apply to msu and/or umich which have their own separate apps.
why do the uc schools admit based on major? I thought you don’t declare your major until sophomore or junior year in college so you have time to explore what you want to do…it’s kinda pushing it if you are expecting a 17 year old to know what they want to do for the rest of their life.
@Eeeee127 It depends, your major doesnt play a role in admissions for L&S
Anyone else here apply CS in Letters of Science instead of EECS?
@ALLCAPS24 yep, I am
@mdchang99 Did you do it bc its less competitive?
@ALLCAPS24 No, because I preferred the breadth of study in the humanities that it offered. However, I have heard L&S admissions are less competitive than EECS
If my EC’s are revolved around CS is it bad that they’re not looking at my major for L&S?
hey buds when do results coem out?
march 30 at 7pm (?) PST
i think
Anyone think it might be the 24th bc that was last year’s date
@ALLCAPS24 they CONFIRMED the 30th so I wouldn’t expect anything earlier haha
@ALLCAPS24 you should have gotten an email saying that it’d come out on the 30th
nvm lmao
