on my portal it says LOR are optional…
I guess I better make sure I stay hydrated. I’ll be doing a lot of crying in a few hours.
@tenaciousteen113 Don’t let anybody get you down. It all depends on the context in which you talked about your friend … and how it relates to you and what you bring to the table. Good luck!
@clemeverst The LOR requests are optional
Quick question: is uc santa barbara good?
@savagenumber1 @clemeverst Only a small percentage of applicants get LOR requests. Most are admitted without!!!
What time were decisions released last year? I can’t find the thread
@soulpup to say that “most are admitted without” is pretty off. “Most” people who apply to UC Berkeley are denied. Getting a LOR request is definitely a good sign.
berkeley is my last hope so many rejections this year. most likely won’t get in to cal, so ucsb it is.
uhhh hey yall im nervy as heck. wanna chat for some distraction
@crawdad12 @savagenumber1 @clemeverst I definitely should have worded it differently. Of those admitted (which is very few) to UCB, most were not asked for LORs. I got an LOR request, but am not confident.
Just got rejected from Penn and waitlisted at Cornell. Really hoping for Berkeley…
@ramz00 I think UCSB is a fantastic school
Decisions came out at 4 last year. Why does everyone say that it will be 5 this year?
They ask for LOR from students that are just borderline between the acceptance and rejection pile.

The LOR, generally, can only help you. I don’t believe my son would’ve got in without it. He was rejected from UCLA, wait listed at UCSD, did get into Davis, UCSB & Cal
Rejected at Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and waitlisted at Penn. Hoping Ivy Day ends on a good note with Berkeley
Are you guys ready? I got into Cornell but if I also got into Berkeley… hot damn
Last year, decisions came out at 4 pm pacific… they might come out earlier than expected
