My dd got into UCLA but her dream was Berkeley and she didn’t get in. There were some tears tonight. But she’s very grateful to be going UCLA.
I got waitlisted … heartbroken. But surprised I even am being considered! Can someone explain the waitlist a little more in detail please and if it’s worth it to try… also what to write about in the statement… plz help I’m in tears

@unc1997 Both UCLA and UC Berkeley should have an option where the students who got accepted at one but rejected from the other in the SAME major can switch places by paying $500 or $1000 more. That way, both students will be happy and each college can get more money. I think it’s a great idea. We need to make more people happy.
1500 SAT rejected but berkeley accepted someone with a 1390 SAT from my school…I dont really understand how it works

I just realized…I decided not to sign up for the AP Lit test though it’s listed on my application, would I get rescinded for this?? Do I have to let them know?
@crazyTM I’m trying to figure out how I got waitlisted and you got rejected when really I would think it would be the other way around- 1260 SAT. Admissions in the one thing that will never make sense to me
Was expecting rejection and am now beyond pumped to be waitlisted. For those who are sad about being waitlisted, if you think about it, it’s not too bad. Last year, they accepted 1340 out of 2445 students from the list. With that in mind, our chances of being admitted went from Berkeley’s acceptance rate of 17.5% to nearly 55%!
