UC Berkeley Chances?

Hey, I’m a Junior in high school and want to apply to UC Berkeley for Computer Sciences. Here are my stats:

OOS from NYS

GPA: the lowest factor. I lived in Canada for the first half of my high school career, then got “kicked out” (long story) so moved to the US.
Canada: 89, with Cs and Bs in most electives and mid to high 90s in Math and Sciences
US: 93.6 with 4 APs (all 5s) – flat 90 in APUSH and AP Bio

SAT I: 720/800/800 (2320)
SAT II: 800 (Math L2), 780 (Bio), 770 (USH), 800 (Physics), 800 (Korean w. Listening)

ECs: VP of Marketing and Sales for Alpine Guard, a Junior Achievement Company
Missionary trip to a Native reservation during freshman summer (1 week)
3-day Walk-a-Thon through Ontario and Quebec to raise awareness for children affected by war
Swim team for 3 years in Canada
Founder and President of HydrateNow, a non-official organization that raises money and donates it to Water Project
Took 2 EdX classes offered by Berkeley, Harvard, and MIT

Essay: Going to write about living in 4 different countries in search of a better education (or should I write about having to leave Canada?)

How do I stack up? I mean, my GPA is horrible in freshman year… Cs and Bs everywhere. Everything is on an upward trend from Sophomore+ though. Do I have a fighting chance at UC Berkeley for Computer Sciences?

Amazing stats…ur a strong applica t…

The UC’s (at least Berkeley and LA) don’t count freshman year towards your GPA. I actually have a very similar application to you statwise (C’s and B’s in freshman year, very strong upwards trend afterwards), and I’m an OOS from NJ, and just got in this year. As long as your personal statement is fine, you stand as good a chance as anybody. The UC’s are also taking more OOS students recently, so in my opinion, you’re good, as long as your personal statement doesn’t suck. Berkeley should be a match, but you never know with admissions.
