The admissions team, according to their reply to my tweet, wrote:
“A small number of students will receive decision notification in February. Most of these students will be nominees for Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarships. However, the majority of applicants find out at the end of March (freshmen) and the end of April (transfers.)”
I then replied and asked what the other portion of these students are (they said “most of these students”), and they wrote:
“Along w/R&C Scholars, some student-athletes may receive notification at that time. R&C Scholars, like all of our applicants are chosen by a holistic selection process. To learn more about it: http://financialaid.berkeley.edu/regents-and-chancellors-scholarship … Most applicants find out in March & April.”
Looks like we’ll see this Friday(?) 2000 out of 15500 freshmen acceptances revealed this weekend.
Just did some post searching and found out acceptances should be posted at around 3:45PM PST–was released on Friday last year and the year before that.
@dowzerw@BrKmNk "California residents and a limited number of domestic out-of-state candidates are invited in early February for a one-on-one interview with a member of Berkeley’s faculty. Interviews take place in late February and early March. Notifications regarding disposition of candidacy are sent at the end of March.
International and transfer candidates are considered for the award via admissions file review by the Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Honors, and Financial Aid."
I had heard that there were some interview conducted in southern California for Berkeley regents, so the prospects did not have to travel. Is that no longer the case?
They do have interviews in SoCal both in LA and SD. The school puts on admitted student events specifically for regents candidates that they bring current scholars to which typically coincide with interviews. These were the dates they sent to current scholars (I’m guessing interviews are on Saturdays)
Can someone call and ask for a specific notification date? I’m scared that because there were more applicants than in the past, they may push the Regents announcement.
Hi,
I was looking through my UC application and I realized that i copied the wrong personal statement from my documents into the application, and while the entire statement is good, there is one sentence at the end that has a very bad error, and I’m hoping that something so small like that won’t keep me out. I had 10 drafts of the essay and I’m so upset that this happened. Here is the sentence…
“…and most people don’t understanding the way I see things”
Oh my goodness I can’t believe myself someone plz tell me there is still hope!!
@CopperlineX2 I so needed this… I’ve been too scared to tell my college counselor because we went through so many drafts and she would be so disappointed. After reading the same essay so many times your eyes kind of glaze over and you start to predict the next words without even realizing. My friend was the one who caught the error while she was reading it, but after my submission anyway thank you!
