UC Berkeley Decision

get them to play some Tears for Fears, they’re so out they’re in again. They couldn’t possibly refuse!

grey. your gf goes to ucsd. you don’t have to worry about anything. enough said. haha.

@ grey

how long have u been with this girl? Anything less than a year, you shouldn’t let affect your decision. But do what you gotta do and it will lead to something great. I messed up big time in high school (2.7 gpa almost didnt graduate from absences) I got into Cal State Chico and i would have gone if it were for my girlfriend still living in Los Angeles which is why i stayed. It led to me getting my act together ( 3.6 gpa) and now im gonna be going to a school muchhh more respected in 2010. Just be sure in your decision

eshug, over two years. about two and a half.

I messed up big time too, but this was before my girlfriend. Big time as in I dropped out of hs and finished at a continuation school (barely)

^ come on… i had a good chuckle the first time i saw fUCLA on a shirt…

‘toejams’ on the other hand… what are we, 7 years old?

@pink: I’ll experiment with new bands on my own time, using the music genome project. What can a person tell me that a couple of mathematical algorithms can’t do better?

I’m pulling for you to get into USC, but we’d be more than happy to have you here at UCSD.

If only to instill some much needed latino flavor to this school devoid of it.

pinker, just wait. you will be hating usc like crazy once u submit that SIR to UCLA!

i actually got the term toejam from a group of 30 year olds. something about USC football players and how one of them injured his toe and used that as an excuse to skip class or something. so they call them toejams since it’s close to trojan.

regardless of the matter,
trojans last for one night, bruins last forever.

GO BRUINS! im out. good luck all with cal!

Ah thats a tough decision. If its serious then you should definitely consider going to SD. USC is tough to turn down though. Long distance relationships are very tough, which is why im breaking up with my gf at the end of the summer ( hopefully she doesnt go on this site lol)

Ahh, continuation school. Where would my gangbanger friends be without you?

“they call them toejams since it’s close to trojan.”

thanks for clearing that one up.
and yeah… i’m sure i’ll be gung ho when the time comes… just trying to keep that coveted objectivity before it goes to sh8t.

i just thought about next year… when all of the young saplings rummage this site for juicy information and come upon this thread… with the title “UC Berkeley Decision”… 300 responses… over 10,000 hits by the end of it (surely)…

i wonder how many pages of it they’ll get through before figuring out that it’s all been a bunch of nervous banter in anticipation of the actual results…

suckerzzz

yeah, I met lots of characters at continuation school.

anyway, I’m sure that I would stand out at UCSD. I don’t look indigenous-Mexican. But I’m definitely not Asian. LOL.

yeah and maybe you will like the beach more than downtown LA. I wonder sometimes if its better to go to a less challenging UC like SB just to stand out for grad school admission

@grey

Man, I can’t imagine how you feel with your gf so far away. I just got out of a two and a half year relationship because there was a possibility I would move to Berkeley (we live in L.A.) I never considered UCLA, but now that we are no longer together I got into UCLA… lol. So I might not be moving after all. We both have trust issues so there was no way it would work.

No offense to any SD people, but grey you seem a bit overqualified for SD, but again sometimes relationships matter much more. I chose school over a girl and it kinda sucks… I hope I get into Berkeley now.

Goodluck with that man, but I’m sure you will get into SC.

eshug, i’m not sure about grad school admissions… but if you look at the entering classes at Berkeley’s Boalt and UCLA Law, you’ll find that, although each UC campus is represented, the heavy density of students come from UCLA or Berkeley.

something to consider, even though the consensus - on this board, at least - is that your alma mater doesn’t matter.

It would be nice if UCLA law gave priority to UCLA students much like it does undergrad for CCC students.

On the contrary, my friends older brother just got into Harvard Grad school and he said that sometimes schools dont like taking from their own students because they want to diversify from other campuses. Maybe hes right, I don’t know.

Are you guys planning on going to law school or grad school?

law school. my math major will help me explain my lower gpa. and be interesting to law school admissions, as not the typical major.

i’m hoping for ucla probably. we’ll see how the lsat goes.

Does anyone have stats on UCLA law acceptance…gpa and lsat scores.

For incoming 2008 class:

[2008 Incoming Class Profile | Admissions Information | UCLA Law](http://law.ucla.edu/home/index.asp?page=1975)

Those Stats make me want to go to UCLA law even more.
