Hi, I have been searching for the longest time for information involving the average gpa for transfers into Industrial Engineering at Berkeley. I know that UCB Engineering is extremeley competitive, but does anybody have an idea of what gpa you would need for IEOR, which i hear is not as impacted as other eng. majors (eg. EECS, ME, ChemE, Civil). I have a 3.73, which I feel would be enough for IEOR. If you can try to be as specific as possible that would be so great.

Also, does the COE accept students by each individual major, or as a whole?

COE accepts by major.

GPA isn’t the only factor for admission, a lot of it is pre-reqs, and personal statements and such count too. I don’t know the average GPA or anything, but I’d imagine if you’ve got your pre-reqs done, you’d at least have a chance with a 3.7.

Some of the engineering majors have GPA cut offs (at least for Nuclear Engineering, I suspect for others as well). If you contact the department directly, someone should be able to tell you what the GPA cut off was for last year.

@failure, mssun: thank you!! :D

Anyone else???
