<p>But again, I would say go to NYU if you were the kind of person that just wanted to be in the big city, in the middle of that, on your own, doing your thing, while getting prepared for your career.</p>
<p>I think that sucks, personally, having lived right outside of NY and it holding no extra mystique for me and knowing I can go back there any time. But some people, and I know quite a few of them, are just city-folk through and through and have no interest in a campus environment, student outdoor functions, or student functions at all for that matter. On top of that, if this person wanted to be on the West Coast, I’d recommend staying there, but if they wanted to be on the East Coast, I’d recommend coming here now and making connections here now. Brown, for instance, holds a lot more sway in NYC than it does in say, LA where Berkeley holds a lot more sway than it does in NYC…</p>
<p>Normally, I’d say UCB no question because NYU isn’t even remotely worth paying a penny more than UCB, but if the cost is the same, the preparation for business is pretty similar, so I’d look at environment as the huge delineating factor.</p>
<p>Plus, there’s far from a guarantee of getting into Haas.</p>
