Okay — so far the data provided supports the theory that the algorithm used to determine Rec. Requests singles out people who have a low SAT scores but high GPAs. The outliers (people with high SAT and GPA) seem to be those who have applied to highly competitive majors such as EECS. From now on, please include your selected major (mine was unspecified intended letters and sciences).
@AKS754 - I don’t see that trend. My own kid has a high GPA and SAT and is not looking at a competitive major. I am seeing a high combo of GPA and SAT for other students on this post. I don’t think it is random but I don’t think that they are aiming at lower SATs.

Does anyone think it might be dependent on when you submitted? For example of people I know, none of them who submitted after the 26th have gotten one. Has anyone who submitted after the 26th gotten requests?

@dango98 not yet, someone posted in another thread source that indicates LORs are going out for another 2-3 weeks. Anything submitted late last week to deadline will probably have to wait longer just because there are lots more apps to go through.
