UC Berkeley Transfer Decisions 2013

Based on what I’ve just read from past year’s Berkeley Financial Aid email threads (there is a decent amount of threads about this), the email is indeed a good sign. With that said, not receiving the email does NOT mean rejection. There were plenty of people accepted who did not receive the email. I’m assuming those who applied for financial aid and were accepted, and did not receive the email, simply had complete financial aid applications!

You are such a nice person to have gone to all that trouble. You really will be an asset to CAL…WHEN you get there this fall!!! :)

Haha thanks!!

Ahh ahhh so close :D

I got the email GPA 4.0 Major: Political Science

Damn I haven’t really got much of anything from Berk… No awards or financial aid emails. My chances are small though so not too surprising. I’m trying not to look into every event as some sign though just want to see my result come friday.

Just two more days my friends!

@bsfswisher can you link me to those threads I can’t find it :frowning: and thank you for confirming!

If you’re not missing financial aid information, you’re not going to get the email. It doesn’t mean you’re rejected. You would think this is pretty obvious but apparently not.

To help alleviate some stress:

So it’s probably a good thing if you got it, but it ISN’T a bad thing if you didn’t get it.

My girlfriend works at financial aid at the community college I am attending, so have I have some (not saying I know everything, just a little more than average) knowledge of how the system works. This is my opinion knowing what I know: if you put UCB on your FASFA, your information is sent to the school regardless of your addmission status. If they are asking for documentation, that means they need to verify your file with other paperwork. I don’t believe that the financial aid and the addmission offices talk that much when having to do with pending admissions status. Those emails may mean good news, but I don’t want anyone’s heart to be broken if they received it and didn’t get in. In my opinion, they are just automated messages going out because you submitted a FASFA.

thank you! you guys are so nice and helpful! but someone on this thread said his/her financial aid was processed and completed fine without needing to send extra document at other schools they’ve applied… i don’t understand why only Berkeley requested additional info from him/her… wouldn’t all school ask them to do that if they were just simply “missing info” for FAFSA…?

Maybe Cal is taking care of this process early. Other UCs will probably ask for documents soon enough too if you’re missing any

Keep an eye out for tomorrow. Apparently the day before decisions, a 2nd email gets sent out stating your financial aid info is ready. This happened last year according to the decisions thread. So I think you find out if you’re accepted/rejected a day early. Just speculation.

@emprex wahhhhhhh… wait everyone who’s accepted will get that second email? or only the people who got the first email today?

Everyone, regardless if they got the first email or not. It’s just speculation. For all I know, maybe they’ll send out nothing. I’m just going off of last year’s thread.

Can you share the link to the thread, or the name?

@CSfuture I hope so!! :slight_smile:
I am a psych major and my overall GPA is 3.82
you? Idk if Im gonna go if I get in. It all depends on financial aid!

I also got the email despite the fact that UC Riverside has already given me a financial aid award, so I’m not really sure what I could be missing.

Sure

As you can see, admitted students received a 2nd email the day before the decisions came out. Some of the admitted students received the 2nd (I guess technically it’s their first) email even if they didn’t receive the first one.

Thank You!
