WOW now how am i gonna sleep tonight :(

What do you mean?

^ cos i am nervous! what if i don’t get that second email tmrw then that means i am for sure rejected! idk but the thread you shared is from 2011 do you know if the same thing happened for 2012?

Yeah if I don’t get the second email I am going to be majorly bummed until Friday! And then majorly bummed for all of next week if I’m rejected :(

Oops I thought that was the 2012 thread. I don’t know. Now that I think about it, there was a financial aid email leak in 2011 so maybe that’s why it happened.

In other words, I am an idiot and I can’t read >.<

well it doesn’t really matter tho we will see for ourselves tmrw… if people are getting the second email, they will start making posts on here anyways so by then, i will know what’s going to happen on Friday still so worried that i didn’t get the first smail… ugh i need to freaking relaxxxx

Do they get the second email, even if their FAFSA info is 100% correct? I thought these emails only went to people who had some imperfection (e.g. “Will file” taxes) or something.

I read in another thread that plenty of admitted people do not get any FinAid emails.

You’re right. Maybe it was a 2011 thing only.

i, too, did not get an email :(

on the side note, any intended mcb majors around here?? :DDDD

The logical reasoning behind this whole email hype is that CAL obviously is missing some documents. Through thorough research on previous threads about the email there is a correlation with emails and acceptances (Maybe because CAL want to be able to display your FIN AID package ASAP and in order to do so they want you to be aware of those missing documents). AS for people that did do the FASFA correctly and are not missing anything we do not get the email. That is NOT IN ANY WAY A BAD SIGN we will just have to wait until Friday evening on the 26th just like the 17,000 other transfer students that applied.

Well since I never updated my FAFSA after I did my taxes and did not receive an email, I’m not very optimistic now.

what about people who dont need financial aid? i dont rmb checking any box requesting for finaid

@nerissa924 I am mcb major developmental and cell biology

@avince same here I have to update my fafsa with my tax return and didn’t get an email

@wintergreen

yay! do u happen to know what the mean gpa is for mcb applicants?

Does anyone know if linguistics is a very competitive member? Are my chances really low having a gpa around 3.65?

@nerissa924 have no idea but all the people i saw on here got accepted to mcb had 3.9+ GPA and one OOS student with 3.7 something i also saw someone with 4.0 got rejected it’s Berkeley, not all about numbers so you never know

Yeah…I’m transferring from an out of state school for a major not offered at my current school…you’re right about it being pretty unpredictable, but I’ve seen a lot of English and philosophy majors get in in the past two years with 3.6 and less. Hoping my circumstances and PS are enough to get me in!

so if you got the financial aid email, you are in for sure??

and if you didn’t, it DOESNT mean you got rejected??

Gah, I’m so nervous and impatient til Friday, cannot wait ::((((

I don’t know if it means your in for sure but its not a big deal if you didn’t get one. Just relax! Whatever is meant to be will happen. Everything will work out for the best.
