UC Berkeley Transfer: Unit 3 Housing Advice

Hey I'm looking for opinions on living in Unit 3 as a 22 yr old transfer student...

Should I accept the offer or live off campus?

The convenience of Unit 3 sounds nice but I'm REALLY concerned about living with a bunch of 18 year olds.

Thoughts?

You’ll probably be surrounded by freshmen, sorry. But it’ll be halfway through the year, so the whole new to school and totally crazy phase will have worn off already. Back when I transferred (about a year and a half ago) I had a freshman roommate for spring semester, and it worked out fine. Wasn’t weird or anything, they’re still people. (And living with upper div/transfers does NOT mean you won’t get problem/nightmare roommates.)

If apartment/dorms are both equally do-able an apartment might be more comfortable in general, but if you don’t already have roommates or an apartment lined up the dorms shouldn’t be too bad. I’m not sure you’d be able to find housing elsewhere at this point in the year.
