UC Berkeley

What are my chances for UC Berkeley, or other top UCs like LA?

Planned major: Computer Science (not EECS, I know I wouldn't get in for that)
SAT: 2180
Math: 780 Reading: 740 Writing: 660 (might retake because of my very low writing score)

Subject Tests
Biology M: 800
Chemistry: 800
Math Level 2: 800

AP scores (do these even matter for college admissions?)
2013: Chemistry - 5
2014 results are not up yet

weighted UC GPA: 4.4

Extracurriculars:
FRC Robotics team (only did this for one year, turned out to be a waste of time since only one or two programmers did everything, anyone new like me couldn't do anything so I quit)
Quiz Bowl (qualified and went to nationals in Chicago this year. at 2 other earlier tournaments I was among the top individual scorers) years: 1
Science Bowl (I went to the regionals but didn't do that well) years: 1
Music: (I play both in school and outside of school, and I've won competitions outside of school) years: about 8

Mu Alpha Theta: (a math club) years: 1
Math Team (our team wins nearly every competition and we got 1st overall for the year) years: 1
"National Science League" 2nd place chemistry 2013, 1st place chemistry 2014

Planned grade 12 senior year schedule (UCs consider this right?):
AP English Literature
AP Government / AP Economics (one semester each)
AP Physics "B" (still not sure what's going to happen to this with the new physics 1 and 2)
Computer programming
symphonic band

probably Linear Algebra, at the local university (will UCs consider this with planned senior year schedule?)

You have a very good chance of acceptance! You may want to retake the SAT if you think you can improve your writing score, but that is still a very good score! You have very good extracurriculars and have a nice, difficult schedule! Good job!

Would you mind chancing me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1662678-what-are-my-chances-uc-irvine-or-ucsb.html#latest</a>

If you just boost up your SAT a bit more, I’d say you’d have a very good chance of getting into those schools (especially if you’re a CA resident).

Wow, I thought you’re a solid match. Yes, Writing is low but everything else is great. I would not hesitate to offer you acceptance if I were an AO. Good luck!

It would definitely help to get your SAT up, otherwise, I’d say those schools are matches.

Maybe I am a little harsh, but I really think that UCB would be a high match/low reach and UCLA a solid match
If you bring your SAT up you should consider EECS!

Can you chance me back?

Thanks!
