I was wondering when we would be notified if we received the blue and gold scholarship? I just received my unofficial financial aid offer from UCSB and it didn’t include the Blue and Gold Scholarship. I’m well versed in all of the requirements in order to receive said scholarship and I know I qualify. Do I receive notification of that scholarship after I’ve submitted my SIR?
What did your financial aid package look like? If you qualify for the ‘Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan’ at the minimum your tuition and fees should be covered and this should already be in your package. Some student may get additional grants in the package. I don’t think you will get anything later except possibly the MCS for a couple thousand.
The Blue & Gold is a ‘promise’ that your tuition will be covered if you meet their requirements. It
will never show up as a scholarship line item, but you should see things like ‘UC Grant’ etc that
cover the tuition. On our aid package, it shows 3 different grants, but they all add up to the
tuition amount. ( assuming your EFC is low enough that you have at least the tuition amount
left as ‘need’).
