@Iodine24 @Gumbymom I did not fill out the FAFSA actually. So I don’t think the Provost Award requires us to fill up/apply for the FAFSA. My friend in the same school as I also received the Provost, and he is not a US citizen.
I got accepted as a CS major in the College of L&S but I got an email from the College of Engineering saying “We hope you are as excited as we are to have you be part of the College of Engineering.” and inviting me to the Decision UC Davis event. Did any other CS majors get this email and is it just because CS could be construed as a type of engineering?
Accepted with an invitation to the University Honors Program (Did anyone else get the invitation??)
Major: Cinema and Digital Media
GPA: 4.2 W, 4.0 UW
SAT: 1470 (taken once)
Race: Asian

Yes @krisselia I got the honors program invite and a regents invite.
@ninehazard I got into L&S CS too and also got that, I was hella confused and thought maybe I accidentally applied to the Engineering college on my application and forgot, but it didn’t make sense since they don’t have a CS (not CSE) major in Engineering lol (I spent like 10 minutes on the website trying hard to look for the CS major in engineering but nope) So idk maybe a mistake? Or maybe because some of our core classes will be in the College of Engineering…
Got accepted as well!
UW GPA: 4.0
W GPA: 4.29 capped and around 4.5-4.6 uncapped not really sure
ACT: 28
Pretty good essays IMO and ECs are also good.
What are my chances for UCSB, UCLA, and Berkeley? Didn’t get additional info request, LOR request, or regents and chancellors invites.
Oh also, for sociology major
Accepted with Regents Scholarship and invited to participate in the University Honors Program
@avxxhan I got that too, and signed up…waiting to hear back. Is anyone confirmed for the trip?

@caligirl1999 and @StressedSeniorInt last year my daughter got into Davis for Cog Sci but got rejected from UCSB for psych
Confused because my D got accepted with Regents and UHP but no recruiting email for expense paid trip. Not sure how they select the applicants for the trip.
@usctrojanz I do not know how they chose, but I do know that one prerequisite is that the applicant must live in Central or Southern California. Beyond that, I have no clue…
I think UC Davis is doing a good job recruiting students. It was last on my D’s list of the 5 UC schools that she applied to but with the regents/UHP and numerous emails about events, it may be moving up on her list.
My kid got in, CS (got the fake Engineering letter yesterday too)
UW 3.75, UC GPA 4.05
SAT 1540, ACT 35
in-state, Asian
How the heck do so many of you get 4.50+ GPAs? Even if my kid got straight As, his weighted uncapped would have “only” been 4.50, and he took 10 AP classes and a bunch of junior college classes. Maybe we’re miscalculating things.
Barely in the top 10% in his class UW, not sure about weighted.
Too bad pre-HS activities didn’t count, he was a national chess champion and represented the US in international competitions. Had ok extra-curriculars nevertheless, lots of volunteer hours, a decent programming internship and a good heartfelt set of essays.
DS accepted

OOS- Surprised and happy that my d got accepted! During our college visits in 4 UC’s last summer, we were told that it is hard for OOS to get in.
http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/out-of-state/index.html "As a public institution, we prioritize admission for California residents."However, all of our campuses offer admission to out-of-state students.
This is the first time I have seen this reaction from my d! She’s so happy with her college acceptance at UCD She’s got merit scholarship offers from other colleges/Honors however and nothing from UCD, so my husband and I are having a hard time to decide at this point.
