@donutfriend123 IIRC it took a week or two.

What generally comes with the Davis acceptance package/mail?
when does the Davis accpetance package come? If I don’t get into Berkeley I’m going to Davis.
can anyone give a commentary on uc davis engineering? classes, internship opportunities, program prestige, etc?
Should I choose University of Washington or UC Davis for computer science guys?
UW, in the Seattle area, has a highly regarded computer science program. With Microsoft and Amazon headquarters in the Seattle area, there are plenty of computer science opportunities. Nordstrom, Starbucks and Boeing also have headquarters in the Seattle area. I believe UW’s CS program is higher ranked than UCD. If you can afford the UW’s 48K yearly costs vs. UCD yearly cost of 30K, you might want to strongly consider UW. UW is a big time school in the PAC 12 sports conference and is a highly ranked research institution globally. Visit both campuses before you decide.
@mattboentoro Also be sure you were accepted directly into CS and not the pre-major at UW.
Is there a UC Davis roommate thread?
@UCBUSCalum @lovespink I am international student, and currently accepted in UW as Pre-Science. I just heard that it is extremely competitive in order to get into the Allen School of Computer Science, that’s why I also consider UC Davis. However, according to the QS Ranking, UC Davis has very low ranking compared to UW in Computer Science. Can I trust these QS ranking actually?
@mattboentoro: CS rankings are usually based on Graduate programs and may be difficult to correlate with Undergrad programs. Since CS is so highly competitive, a direct admit into your choice major is most likely the best option. UCD is still ranked in the top 40 and you will get an excellent education there. Remember that you should take Rankings with a grain of salt and not base your decision just on the rankings. As a student, academics, finances and social scene should all be considered.
@donutfriend123 Chancellor Gary May tweeted that acceptance packets were sent out today.
hey guys… being a “top student” or something like that, davis offered to fly me up there and stay there for 3 days or 1… they said they would send me a confirmation email of flights, has anyone gotten confirmation?
no confirmation for me so far
@Gumbymom thank you for the advise!
@mattboentoro : @Gumbymom is correct that QS ranking is generally for graduate schools. There is another ranking used frequently, Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), which shows similar results for graduate schools with UW much higher ranked than UCD. For graduate programs in computer science, the US News Reports ranks MIT, Stanford, UC Berkeley and Carnegie Mellon tied for #1. University of Illinois is #5 and University of Washington and Cornell tied for #6. #8 is Princeton. UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara are tied at #34, which excellent, considering that there are well over 100 schools offering CS. Many times the undergraduate programs ride off “the coattail” of the graduate programs. The point is, UW computer science is very highly regarded and very competitive to get in. I heard that if you are a UW undergraduate student trying to get in, you need at least a 3.8 to 3.9 GPA.
Also, if you were already admitted to UCD’s CS and for UW, you have to compete for a spot, you might want to consider the sure thing at UCD. At UW, there is no guarantee you’ll get into CS since it is extremely competitive.
how long do acceptance packets take to arrive?
@UCBUSCalum thank you for your kind explanation. It gives me a clear idea about the comparison between those 2 unis.
