UC Davis only has major-specific orientation in Late June and Early July, but if I cannot go is there any other orientation, for example during move-in week?
@lilaclily not sure - I think she is leaning to UCSB but we visited UCD a few weeks ago as we are a few hours drive away and the campus was great, wonderful college town, people were reallt warm and friendly. Culture seems like smart, ficused students but willing to help each other. She really was interested in UW and was accepted to business with scholarship but still a lot more money than the UCs and she was not overly impressed with the campus when we visited. How about you?
@meb1meb1 Oh wow, that’s good to hear about UC Davis. I haven’t visited yet, but I’m also actually in between Davis and UCSB right now. I just checked out SB last week and it didn’t really call my attention. Thanks for responding and good luck to your daughter on deciding which college to go to. All three of them are amazing !
Hey, my stats are alot like yours(except I took the SAT bio and chem) but I got 4B’s and 4C’s in the IGCSE’s. Do you think that would hinder my chances? I did compensate by partaking in a lot of EC’s and volunteering work though.
I’m taking bio, chem, and psych HL. Along with french ab, math, and english SL
do you know how to register for the decision UC Davis day?? The email sends me to the place that just says look back at my email!!
@jessieg2018 There was an email that should have been sent out before March 15 titled “Be our guest for a UC Davis overnight visit”. There was a due date for registration, so you may be waitlisted.
When do they send out acceptance packets?
@inhalexhale: My niece already received her acceptance package and she lives in Southern California.
@Gumbymom Do you happen to know when she received it?
@lilaclily: She received it last Friday.
Thanks @Gumbymom I’m OOS, hopefully I’ll receive it this weekend.
What should I do if I have yet to receive my admission packet?
So I called yesterday and they said that I should not worry if I haven’t received my admission packet since they still haven’t sent a lot and are doing it on a rolling bases
Anyone going to Decisions Day tomorrow?
Just received my acceptance package in the mail. (Southern California)
Received mine yesterday, OOS. Large blue envelope with a letter and pamphlet. Just waiting for UCI’s admissions packet. Do UC’s give merit based scholarships to OOS students who don’t qualify for FAFSA?
@inhalexhale: UC’s give little merit aid such as Regents or Chancellor’s scholarships but unless their is a need-based factor, it is just a drop in the bucket for most OOS students. If you are a recipient of one these scholarships, it would have been stated in your admission package along with being in your student portal. If you are an OOS applicant and did not receive any merit scholarships, then expect to pay full fees at approximately $65K/year to attend.
Thanks for the prompt and helpful reply @Gumbymom!
Does anyone know the rescind policy? More specifically, if we can get any C’s?
@dood523: Assuming you are a Freshman, you need to maintain a weighted 3.0 GPA with no D’s or F’s Senior year.
