@Daedalus916‌ I SIR’d to Berkeley :)

I can’t wait to talk to an adviser at UCD. I’m so freakin’ confused. Is living in the family housing apartments living on-campus? Because I’m afraid if I put on-campus, they’re going to think that I mean to be in the SHA and I can’t do that since I have my son and my SO living with me… They don’t mention it either on the Student Housing Options and I sent the application 2 months ago and I don’t even know when I’m even supposed to get in. Plus, I put I would be an off-campus student cuz I was unsure and if I put on-campus will my tuition be higher since they think I’m living in one of their student housing apartments? Or do they give me more financial aid for it? Also, will my financial aid pay for the apartment (idk where else to get the money. I’m unemployed) or? Ugh, these questions are HAUNTING me.

I never posted my stats I’m hoping that this could help future students. My GPA wasn’t that high but i got into Davis

Major: Electrical Engineering
GPA: 2.93
Applied: UCR,UCSC,UCD,UCSD,UCB
Accepted: UCR,UCSC,UCD,UCSD
Rejected: UCB
IGETC: Completed
PreReqs: All done
TAG: No
Extracurricular Activities: Math tutor, SI Leader, PTK member, Dean List(ALL of these were at my last CC)

It took me 6 years to decide what i wanted. I went to 3 different community colleges. My average at my first 2 was about 2.5. My last 3 semesters at my last college i got straight A’s and B’s and became involved. In my personal statements i talked about all my struggles and how I matured into a better student. I also told them to consider the grades at my last college because thats where i became serious and wanted to be successful. All that work payed off because i am now going to UC Davis :). So don’t give up if your GPA is low try to improve it and have extracurricular activities to make up for it.

I was waitlisted, denied, then appealed and was admitted finally.

Major: Psychology
GPA: 3.78
Transferring from CSU

prereqs completed

UC did not accept CSU class that was equivalent to CC class that fulfilled English Comp requirement, appeal was successful. UCD first choice

Hey guys, I have multiple questions regarding UC Davis TAG:

For those people who used the TAG application, did you let a counselor approve it before submitting it? Is it required for a counselor to check your TAG before submitting it or can we just submit it by ourselves? Do you know anyone who didn’t need a counselor to approve his/her TAG & his/her UC Davis TAG was actually approved?

The counselor at my CCC said that you don’t need the CCC’s approval before submitting. UC Davis does verify your TAG with your CCC (see the 3rd column <a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors), but that the TAG submission is all on you. The counselor further explained that when they receive Davis’ request for TAG verification they have 3 choices that they can recommend: approve, deny, or unsure. The counselor assured me that if the CCC has any questions or doubts about a students TAG eligibility they will reach out to the student for clarification before suggesting that Davis deny the TAG.

Please verify this with your CCC though. At the 3 CCC’s I have attended I have gotten a lot of conflicting information from admissions/transfer counselors.

I am sort of how you were where I haven’t done so well in the past but I would really like to go to UC Davis. Do you have any advice and tips besides the ones you’ve mentioned? I am finishing up my fourth year at CC and I did apply to UCD but I’m worried I might not get in this year because my GPA is quite low. Help!
