I’ve been admitted to both universities and I can’t pick. I’m from California, would enjoy a party school, and want to study math or biology. Does Davis has a better national reputation? Does Davis have sports culture and parties? Please even comment general thoughts about the two universities. Thanks.
Wisconsin has overall a better reputation academically and internationally. UCD is still a great school but UW is globally much better known and nationally cause of sports. It comes down to what you want to study cause UW is specifically good at social sciences and humanities while Davis does have a rep for comp sci and others. As well you gotta weigh living in cali or wisco it’s two dif environments
Looks like they are tied at #44 in US News & World Report for national universities. Having gone to Davis, I have to say it was a fantastic experience. Plus, you don’t have to endure the Wisconsin winters 
If you haven’t visited either school, please make it a priority. No one can tell which school to pick since it is an individual choice. Remember you will be spending 4 years at one of these schools, so make sure it is a good fit: academically/socially and financially. Only you can make that decision and a happy student is a successful student.

I would say cost of attendance is the first consideration. If cost is a concern, and Wisconsin is significantly more expensive, I think it is difficult to justify going there. On the other hand, if cost of attendance is not a concern, I would go for fit, and if a rich athletic tradition, school spirit and party scene are important to you, then Wisconsin is a better option.
