UC Davis vs University of Pittsburgh

I have been accepted at both UC Davis and Pitt. I'm having a tough time to decide between the two. Can someone give me the pros and cons of both universities as well as tell me how hard quarter system actually is especially for a major like electrical engineering

the quarter system *

pittsburgh !!!

I have some questions. What is the price for both? What are you looking for in a school as far as social life, location, etc? What do you want to do with your degree

Can you give us (tuition+ R&B) - (grants+scholarships) = ?
What’s your parents’ budget?
Did you get into Honors (or did you get Regents)?

@MYOS1634‌ , I from the Bay area but I moved to India ten years ago so I have to pay the out of state fees for both universities. Davis roughly costs about $54,000 per year while Pitt costs about $41,000 . The total grants + scholarship at Davis comes to around $ 28,000 while at Pitt it comes around to about $8,000. The only difference in cost between UC Davis and Pitt is about $7,000 plus the cost factor is not a big part of my decision.
@gman333‌ I’m looking for a school where I can manage between academics as well as have fun at the same time, location wise I’m used to a warm climate so UC Davis would be the better option but looking at the intensity of the quarter system it kinda freaks me out that’s why I’m considering Pitt. The cost factor does not play a big part in the decision. I plan on going to graduate school so my degree is pretty important.

UC Davis: college town, near Sacramento/San Francisco reachable occasionally
Pitt: in the middle of a big city
UC Davis wins for the weather.
Overall, if you like both equally and you got into your major at both, go to the cheapest one :)

UC Davis wins on weather and Pitt wins on urban location. For graduate school, both are very good, but mostof all grad admission will depend on what you do in college. The name of your university (whether it’s UCD or Pitt or another school) is pretty unimportant in relation to classes taken, GPA, internships/research experience, etc. plus developing a relationship with professors (ie., going to office hours, asking questions, etc)

@MYOS1634‌ what is your general opinion on the quarter system and the semester system. In which academic calendar do you think majoring in engineering be easier to handle

It would seem that both schools would be a good fit for you. Have you visited both campuses? If not you probably should to compare the two.
