Wow, for some reason I think March 15ish will actually mean more to us CCers than the ucla/cal dates...

I am now offically checking the UCR page compusively...

Dude, if I don't get into UCSD I won't even bother to look for Cal.

i'm really hoping we all get into the colleges of our choice.. that would be great.

yeah that would be cool hobofromdt...

that way we can all start CollegeConfidential Chapters at our respective UCs =)

Ahhhh!! Good luck everyone! I, too, hope that everyone gets accepted to their college of choice.

Hey guys, I have a question. I just got notice that I made the dean's list for last semester and that I'm eligible for phi theta kappa and all that (apparently I was eligible BEFORE I applied to uc and didn't realize it). Now the update filing period is passed and I really wish this stuff was on my application. Is there any way I can add it?

squarepeg, the adcoms will see it on your transcript.

Your transcript comes in after you have been accepted.

thanks. I just called the application processing center anyway, and they told me to send them an email with the new info and that they'd send it to all of my colleges.

Square, I'm in the exact same position as you. I made Dean's List but was invited to Alpha Gamma Sigma. How did you contact the application processing center, by email or phone?

Guys...I don't think it is going to make a difference that you got the dean's list distinction and/or got into an honors club (considering you wouldn't have had the time to do any activity in the club).

Should we all go and change our applications based on the extra-curricular activities we've done since we submitted? I don't think so. This isn't something to go crazy over.

Kudos, I called them at 1-800-523-2048, but they told me to email the new additions. here's the email: ucinfo@ucapplication.net

Pardon me for going on a rant, but I feel it's necessary:

You know, Gabe, I understand where you're coming from, but I disagree with you. Yes, I think we all should put everything we've accomplished on our apps. Yeah, it's padding, but I'm f***ing proud of myself for building my good grades and study habits out of literally nothing (I was a high school dropout). I want the world to know that this student who literally made straight F's many times over the years, is now a straight A student in college. I think my essay demonstrated my passion for my discipline (anthro) and so I don't feel like the adcoms will look at my app and think I added the extra stuff because I was desperate. And truth be told, I AM desperate, but more out of anticipation and knowing that this application is the most important document of my life so far and I've gone through some pretty hard times to get here. This probably doesn't make sense to anyone else, but for me, adding that extra stuff is like throwing salt over my shoulder or praying. It may not make any difference in the entire world except it reduces my anxiety.......Besides, the fact that you're a member of the honor society could put you in the running for scholarships you may not have previously been eligible for.

squarepeg... very good work, there! You change for the better! Great! :D Keep up your good work!

Funny Gabe, I don't remember asking your opinion. I simply asked Square how he submitted his information. I don't think the tone of my post seemed "crazy". Deep breaths, man. In through the nose, out through the mouth... Much better.

If it's good for your personal mental health, then yeah, I would go ahead with that myself.

Kudos-let's not reference 'moods' in posts. When I said this is "not something to go crazy over," I wasn't saying you were going crazy, but that this kind of thing could go in that direction (for us neurotic folk). It's just about impossible, and not a worthy effort, to discern the mood of my posts, your posts, or anyone else's posts.

Can't we all pretend to get along?

actually, i'm a she :)

i'm not a very good actor =(

Gabe, the problem is I'm not the type to go "crazy" over it. I haven't even decided whether or not I'll even bother. I just asked Square some information. Just save the energy next time, since it really was not a question geared towards you. It's ok to let other people give an answer when they are asked specifically.

Square, notice how I said her? My bad, haha.

i'm not a very good actor =(

It's okay typing/writing-pretend isn't as hard as it sounds. Plus you're rather civil compared to a few others anyway, despite being a hobo and all.
