<p>So I have been emailing a lady in the admissions office today and she informed me that I will not be admitted to Bus-econ, but she asked if I wanted to choose another major and try to transfer into the Bus-econ major if I go to UCSB. I told her to change my major to Communications and she said "Communication would be fine if that's what you want." I'm wondering if she means changing my major to Communication will just better my chances at getting in, or if she meant that I will be admitted under Communication.</p>

<p>Anyone having any contact with UCSB like this?</p>

<p>Yeah I guess that's essentially what is happening. I told her I was under the impression that they admitted students to Pre major status for Bus Econ and she basically ignored it by saying I would not be admitted to the major. I'm not stuck on Santa Barbara, I just kind of expected to be admitted because I have heard of many transfers getting in to SB with lower GPAs and less pre reqs than me, but then again that's why there is an AVERAGE hah.</p>

After being denied from UCSB for Bus Econ it's pretty safe to assume I need all the UCLA contacts I can get....The UCSB lady emailed me and said I will be receiving a decision "very soon" so I guess I'll let you guys know how this odd situation ends up since you are all biting your nails reading these posts. </p>

<p>I know I don't have the best stats, but I was hoping I could get into UCSB. I was admitted to UC Davis though, so at least I have somewhere to go. Still waiting on UCSD, UCI, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and USC. Given what just happened I'm guessing I most likely will not be admitted to those schools except maybe UCI.</p>

<p>OMG...CAL's admission director sent out a last minute letter today stating that there's a possibility that admission could drop from 22% to 10% due to budget cuts. </p>

<p>This is BS, man. He seem to be fighting the issue, but it's likely that the cut could be put in effect. I hope he's not gonna let us down.</p>
