<p>Does you have to write about something recent like highschool related? I wrote about a childhood incident that had a impact, but was recommended by a very kind reader to write about something more recent. </p>

<p>I wrote about a childhood event as well because I couldn’t think of any recent significant moments that could compare to it. If i were you, I wouldn’t sacrifice a strong topic/event just for the sake of another one occurring more recently. As long as your essay’s well written and relates to the person you are, it should be fine.</p>
