Hey guys, I'm from an out of state prospective student from the east coast and I understand that the UC's convert our GPA's into their own system, but exactly what goes into the calculations? I checked this site: CaliforniaColleges.edu - Calculating Your GPA and it spat out some funky number...I mean, the instructions state to input the number of letter grades starting from 9th yet on Berkeley's site: University of California - The scholarship requirement states that you only input 10th and 11th grade marks. Which of the two is true? And do UC schools really calculate GPA by only the number of letter grades you get and not the actual number grade (for example 3 A's instead of the actual number grade 90,94,98 etc.)? Furthermore, what happens if you took HS credit courses that your school offered before 9th grade (i.e. Earth Science, Art Foundations, etc.), are they not taken into consideration? Any responses would be greatly appreciated, thanks a lot.
