UC Irvine Class of 2020 Applicants Discussion & Results

I mean, I think it depends on your major @ruetherford

My D is in the same boat. She received a chancellor’s invite to UCSB, but we’ve heard nothing from UCI yet. She wants to major in dance. Have all CHP notifications for UCI been sent?

@symsmommy I hope not :frowning:

@symsmommy dance ? lol

^^ why is that funny? The dance program at UCSB is so impacted that only Engineering and Dance are not eligible for the transfer guarantee program from CC.

I got accepted with CHP. when do we hear about financial aid package?

@ChloeMartinez- Stats: 3.92, 2230 SAT and 800 and 790 in Sat 11(math and Bio). ASB, Sports and Research all summners

Got Chancellors for UCSB but not CHP at UCI. My major is computer engineering. I find it weird because I’ve heard a lot better things from UCSB’s Computer Engineering program. I find that weird, but hey it’s college admissions what isn’t weird.

Hi everyone. My daughter applied to UC Irvine, Santa Barbara, Davis, San Diego and UCLA. Her top pick is UCSB and I approve. Yes, its a party school - they ALL are, if you chose to do so.
Anxiously waiting to hear about Irvine. Its her safety net of the UC schools, but there’s no guarantee with the UC schools. She’s a good candidate but you never know what they are looking for. We have seen some kids from previous years get denied and they appeared to be great UC candidates, and other gets get accepted and we are dumbfounded how they got in. So… we’ll see. I’ve read the latest threads about UCI admissions. Sounds like it could be any day now. Please post if you have been accepted.

@uclagal20 what does it mean to get a supplement info request???

@ soccerplayer007
me too.
I go between this forum and the portal, back and forth, pretty much all day.
UGH… the waiting !!!

I think my D must have high-jacked my computer! :blush:

Just discovered this thread; I got accepted with CHP in mid February for Economics. Im in state with ACT score of 27 and i am super involved in my large public school with quite a few leadership positions and varsity sports.

Is there any way to request a free flight to go to Honors experience day?

I just talked to a real nice person at the admissions office@949-824-6703
She said admissions are not done and certainly more acceptances are being rolled out through March 30 and that definitely includes instate. Let us stay positive.
Feel free to call them and check yourselves.

Has anyone who applied as a nursing major heard back? I’m freaking out as I still haven’t heard anything.

@bakeacupcakeor2 I applied to the nursng major. Still waiting on that too. Thank god I’m not alone. Good luck!!! I hope we both get in :slight_smile:

@Illusiadude AWWW!! That’s so nice of you to say!! I hope we both get in too! :slight_smile:

OMG I’m so glad to see other nursing majors here. I’m freaking out with all this waiting T___T

Just a little note for everyone thinking about doing the CHP… It’s a lot of unnecessary extra for an earlier registration date. A lot of the CHP students I know dropped out of it. Not to deter anyone from the program, but just a heads-up; if you don’t think you need to it to graduate on time, it’s probably in your best interest not to enroll in it.
