@xIronCrossx ^^^
Oh sorry, I got accepted last Friday!
I talked to someone in ADMISSIONS today
I asked if there would be any decisions today
She said, “within the next 3 days.”
Then I said ,“okay thank you, so what that means is the there is a 95% chance we are not getting anything today?”
She said, “yeah most likely the 30th you’ll get something.”
So sorry to rain on everybody’s parade BUT LOOKS LIKE WE ARE NOT GETTING ANYTHING TODAY. :c
There were acceptances yesterday?
It is on a rolling basis…
Last year I knew someone who applied and when he called they said there were more acceptances to come. However, it ended up being all declines and waitlists. They say this because they don’t want a million phone calls about rejections before the results are even out. Stay hopeful, but not too hopeful guys. See you guys at UCI!
Wow so much negativity in this thread.
Seriously, I don’t know why people feel the need to post things like that especially if it’s just speculation. Not everything that happens during admissions in a previous year will occur the following year, for any UC and it’s just insensitive af to even mention anecdotal BS like that. How do you even know that the rest were declines and waitlists, did you survey everybody?? No
Spreading positive vibes O:-)
But forreal, none of us can confirm anything. Past trends don’t really mean much in the present. It seems like there are way too many people waiting for there to be no more acceptances. Whatever happens, happens. Let’s just all be supportive to each other during these stressful times. Many of us have dreams to here while it is a back-up to others. Whatever Irvine is for you, don’t diminish other people’s dreams.
So much negativity. None of us know what will come next or when there will be more acceptances. I know a ton of people with amazing gpas and competitive applications who still haven’t heard from Irvine. Saying its all rejections from here on out is so ignorant. Good luck to all of us still waiting
The stress is killing me. I applied for transfer as a Chemical Engineer with a ~ 3.25, having completed absolutely all prerequisites as well as being currently enrolled in the CBEMS 45A/45B/45C Thermodynamics series through cross-enrollment at UCI which would qualify me to start one year ahead of the vast majority of other Chemical Engineering transfers. (Two years at UCI versus three years). While my GPA isn’t as high as other transfer applicants - I on the other hand will have already finished the exact equivalent of the first year of ChemE at UCI by the time I transfer in. Any thoughts?
@nmsocal I think getting cross enrolled and taking that initiative really puts you at par with the rest of the applicants with higher gpas and shows you are really determined and committed to UCI. I think you have a pretty good shot actually Best of luck to you
I really hope so. UCI is my top choice school because I already have become accustomed to the campus and its only 20 minutes from home. I applied for Fall 2014 (before taking CBEMS) and was denied from UCLA and UCI, and waitlisted by UCSD. This year, I have only been admitted so far to CSULB, UCR, waitlisted CPP and UCSD but still haven’t heard from UCI. I’m just worried that they aren’t taking into consideration the fact that I’m a year ahead of the rest of the transfer pool of chemical engineers.
@nmsocal I do hope you’ll get in. If they were to deny you, you would have a solid reason for appealing. What were your grades in that Thermodynamics series?
Does UCI take a holistic approach to apps? Do they care about essays, ECs, awards, clubs, etc?
Per last years threads :
17th first batch of acceptances went out
23rd 2nd batch of acceptances
24-25th wait lists and then rejections
Sending out positive vibes and praying for everyone to some acceptances soon
Hey guys did anyone from UC TO UC transfer, submit their winter grades or spring classes?
I only submitted my fall grades and winter courses during the TAU deadline of Jan 31st.
I couldn’t enter my winter grades because I didn’t take the quarter yet or my spring classes.
Pretty sure the negative people on this thread are the ones that got into one of their top choices and really aren’t waiting for UCI. Thanks for being insensitive…
