Biology Major Transfer! Help!

Hi guys,

I just wanted to see how many of you guys are Biology major transfers and what you guys think my chances are of getting into UCSD, UCSC, UCR, UCI, and UCD with a 3.25 gpa. I understand that Fall grades will play a part on my gpa but I figured that my gpa will pretty much stay the same. My dream schools are actually UCSC and UCD.
but hear it goes... what do you guys think my chances are to get into these 5 campus with this gpa with.
1 year of general chemistry completed
1 year of biology sequence completed
Calculus 1 and 2 completed before i transfer.
and 1st half of O chem completed.
and no physics.

Thanks for taking time to read!

TAG UCSC and you’re guaranteed admission.

does anyone know my chances to the campuses if TAG wasn’t a factor.?

I have your EXACT GPA and I got into everywhere I applied (UCI, UCD, UCSD and UCLA) except UCB! (I was also in TAP for UCB), but my TAP advisor said that Biology really took it hard this year being the most impacted major of all of the impacted majors at Cal (even psychology). I finished everything by the end of Spring '13 (my physics was calculus based) except for General Chemistry II (which I am taking over this summer).

Sorry for all the parenthesis!! haha, what’re your extracurriculars? what’re your future goals? Why are you majoring in biology, what interests you about biology? You need to have a STRONG personal statement along with a good foundation of leadership/workexperience/tutoring/volunteer work. (Not to say all of them but most!)

Oh, and I chose UCSD. PM me if you have any more questions!

You need to have both semesters of ochem to get into UCI as a bio major. It is a requirement for transfer, not just “recommended”.
