UC Irvine Fall 2021 Transfer Thread

yeah it’s kind of ridiculous. I got my Davis TAG 5 months ago. As long as you’ve passed the requirements you should get in. No reason for it to take this long.

What worries me about UCI TAG is that previous applicants who met all the requirements were denied the guarantee. UCI is kind of shady in that sense lol

this is what happened last year

I still haven’t heard anything yet either.

I’m actually expecting to get denied even though I’m TAG with all requirements. That’s just totally based on the vibe I’ve gotten.

i heard this happened too, but they just appeal and they get in. hopefully we can all just get in and avoid the appeal process lol

Definitely. Good luck to all applicants! I’m manifesting acceptances for all of us lol

Sometimes it may be like weird rules people don’t know. For example like one of the english courses we have to take has to be done by the end of last summer, like we wouldn’t meet tag if we took one english in the fall and one this spring.
Also, like it’s not just based on our GPA right now but our GPA from all previous semesters has to be above a 3.4.
A bunch of these things I didn’t know until I went to a workshop at my CC and i was like wow

the portal normally goes down before decisions are released?

no idea, probably not though.

Wouldn’t our overall GPA have to be a 3.4 at the time of applying? I just know we have to keep that 3.4 in order to keep the TAG agreement and above a 3.0 (?) for our spring semester. I’ve never heard that all semesters had to be above a 3.4.

you can get rescinded if it falls below a cumulative 3.4 and 3.0 for the current semester.

There’s no way it isn’t Friday if last year it was delayed and came out the 10th. Plz UCI.

they said it was early-april. I can’t imagine anything past the 10th being early-april

So the way they phrase it is “Earn a minimum GPA of 3.4 in all UC transferable coursework by the end of the summer 2020 term for fall 2021 admission and will maintain a 3.4 GPA in all UC transferable coursework for all subsequent terms” so the way that sounds is all the transferable coursework up until the summer has to be a 3.4. I could be reading it wrong though?? I don’t want to give any false information so I feel better just copy and pasting this here

fall sem grades included as well?

of course.

Oh yeah for sure. I’m sure the requirement to maintain a 3.4 starts summer 2020 and ends spring 2021 before transferring (from what I’m reading on the UCI admissions page). I was under the impression that ALL of our semesters had to be 3.4+. I was worried because I didn’t do so well my first few semesters but I brought my gpa up significantly.

I know that for engineering at least the major prep cumulative has to be 3.0 while the overall including GE’s has to be 3.4.

Okay yeah sorry if I confused you😅

No you’re fine
