UC Irvine or Cal Poly Pomona for Civil Engineering

Hi,

I am trying to choose between these two schools to attend as an undergraduate, and I cannot decide. Which one would give me a better education in Civil Engineering? I know Cal Poly Pomona is more hands on and UCI is more based on theory, but I do not know much more than that. And looking into the future, if I choose to go to graduate school in another state, would one of these two schools be considered stronger than the other? If any of you are students or have knowledge of either of these programs, I would really appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

I guess my question is which one would you guys attend for engineering if you got into both of these schools? I would appreciate anyone’s opinions and responses  .

Pomona hands down. I am currently transferring out of UCI engineering and going to another school. No support for students, no one works together, class sizes are roughly 200-300 students. Pomona has a class cap of 40 students, plenty of support, fantastic campus community, and the advisors are epic. I have gone to the campus 3 times already. It is a fantastic program and you will surely land a job graduating from CPP.

What campus are you going to attend?

I will be transferring to Pomona.
